Cannabis Facility Epoxy Flooring in Vancouver

Licensed cannabis production, processing, and packaging facilities run under some of the strictest cleanliness and documentation standards of any industry in British Columbia. The floor is a big part of that. It has to be seamless, easy to sanitize, chemically resistant, and durable enough to handle equipment, carts, and constant foot traffic without breaking down.

We install seamless epoxy floor systems for cannabis facilities across Metro Vancouver, from cultivation and drying rooms to extraction areas, packaging lines, and washdown zones. Each space has different demands, and we spec the system to match how the room is used.

The Challenge in a Cannabis Facility

Cannabis facilities deal with moisture, plant material, cleaning chemicals, and in extraction areas, solvents and heat. A bare or tiled concrete floor traps contaminants in its pores and grout lines, which makes true sanitation almost impossible and creates a spot where bacteria and mould can take hold.

These facilities are also inspected and audited regularly, so the floor needs to present as clean, intact, and maintainable at all times. Cracks, peeling coatings, or porous surfaces are exactly the kind of thing that draws attention during an inspection.

The System We Recommend

For most cannabis production and packaging spaces we recommend a seamless solid epoxy system, often over a moisture vapour barrier where the slab needs it. The result is a continuous, non-porous surface with no grout lines or seams for contaminants to hide in, which is what makes it straightforward to clean and keep clean.

In wet processing and washdown areas we can add integral cove base at the wall-to-floor joint and a slip-resistant finish, so water and cleaning solutions drain properly and staff stay safe on a wet surface. In extraction rooms where chemical exposure is heavier, we spec a more chemically resistant build. We work primarily with Sika products and select the right system for each room rather than applying one coating everywhere.

Cleanliness and Compliance

A seamless epoxy floor supports the sanitation and Good Production Practices that licensed facilities are held to. It gives you a hard, non-absorbent, cleanable surface that stands up to repeated washdowns and the disinfectants used in a regulated production environment.

We build the floor to support your cleanliness and classification requirements, but we do not certify or validate your facility ourselves. That validation is handled by your own quality team and regulators. Our role is to deliver a floor that makes meeting those standards easier and to document the system we installed.

Downtime and Scheduling

Cannabis facilities usually cannot shut down entirely, so we plan the work in phases and around your production schedule. We use temporary dust containment walls and air scrubbers to isolate the work area and keep dust and odour out of adjacent rooms that are still running.

We will walk the space with you, agree on which rooms come offline and when, and sequence the coating so each area has the cure time it needs before equipment and staff return. Rushing cure time is how floors fail early, so we treat the schedule as part of the quality of the job.

A Real Cannabis Sector Project

We completed a multi-room solid epoxy installation for Herbaland, a pharmaceutical and supplement producer in Richmond, covering the production floor, packaging floor, and dishwashing room across just over ten thousand square feet. The scope, a moisture vapour barrier under a seamless solid colour epoxy, is closely related to what a cannabis production facility needs.

You can see the full write-up on our Herbaland pharmaceutical project page, which walks through the prep, the moisture management, and the finished result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. A seamless solid epoxy floor gives you a non-porous, cleanable surface that stands up to washdowns, cleaning chemicals, and heavy traffic, which is why it is a common choice for cultivation, processing, and packaging spaces.

In many cases yes. Where the concrete shows moisture we can install a moisture vapour barrier before the epoxy build to manage vapour coming up through the slab. We assess each slab before recommending a system.

No. We build the floor to support your cleanliness and classification requirements, but validation and certification of the facility are handled by your own quality team and your regulators. We provide documentation of the system we installed.

Usually. We phase the work around your production schedule and use temporary containment walls and air scrubbers to isolate the active work area from rooms that are still running.
