Garage Epoxy Flooring in Vancouver
Epoxy Garage Floor Coatings Built for Wet Winters
Epoxy Experts installs epoxy garage floors for homeowners and businesses across Metro Vancouver, from single car garages to multi bay shops. Bare concrete in a Vancouver garage soaks up rain, road salt and oil every winter, and it starts to pit and dust within a few years. We diamond grind the slab, repair the cracks and lay down a flake, solid colour or metallic system that seals the concrete and wipes clean in minutes.
Flake garage floors start at $6 per square foot installed, and flake and solid floors carry a 15 year written warranty against peeling and delamination. For the full price breakdown by garage size, see our garage epoxy flooring cost guide.

Why an Epoxy Floor Holds Up in a Vancouver Garage
An epoxy system bonds into the ground concrete and forms a sealed surface on top. That changes how the slab handles everything a garage throws at it.
Moisture and road salt
Water and de icing salt tracked in on tires sit on the surface instead of soaking into the slab, which slows the pitting and spalling that bare concrete develops in our wet winters.
Oil and fluids
Oil, brake fluid and coolant wipe up before they stain. On bare concrete the same spill leaves a permanent dark patch.
Hot tires and dropped tools
A properly ground and primed floor holds under hot tires and takes dropped tools far better than paint or a DIY kit, which is why prep matters more than the product.
Light and cleanup
A sealed, glossy floor bounces light around the garage and can be swept, dust mopped or damp mopped in minutes.
Garage Floor Coating Systems We Install
Every garage gets used differently, so we match the system to how you use the space. Whichever finish you choose, the slab is diamond ground first so the coating bonds.
Decorative flake
Vinyl chips broadcast into the base coat in a blend you choose. The texture adds grip when you track in rain and hides dust, scuffs and small marks between cleanings. It is the most popular choice for home garages.
Solid colour
A clean, uniform finish in the shade you pick and the most budget friendly system we install. Lighter shades make the garage brighter to work in, and it pairs well with a polyaspartic topcoat for heavy use.
Metallic
Metallic pigments worked in by hand create a marbled, high gloss floor, and no two come out the same. We usually seal it with a polyaspartic topcoat to protect the shine. See our metallic epoxy page for colour options.
Polyaspartic topcoat
A fast curing top layer that adds abrasion and UV resistance over any of the systems above and resists yellowing in garages that get direct sun. Read how polyaspartic compares to epoxy.
What a Garage Epoxy Floor Costs
Rates include diamond grinding and the full coating system. Most two car garages of 400 to 600 square feet land between $2,400 and $4,800 with flake, and a single car garage of 240 to 380 square feet lands between $1,440 and $3,040.
What pushes a quote up
- A failed previous coating that has to be ground back to bare concrete
- A slab that reads damp and needs a vapour barrier under the system
- Heavy cracking or spalling that needs more repair compound and time
We check all three during the free assessment and give you a fixed price before the job is booked.
How a Garage Floor Install Works
Every job follows the same four steps, and we tell you exactly when the floor is ready for foot traffic and vehicles.
Free assessment
We measure the garage and check the slab for cracks, moisture and old coatings. Where a slab reads damp, we moisture test it so the system we pick will bond.
Grind and repair
We diamond grind the concrete with dust extraction, fill cracks and patch pitting so the floor is flat and open.
Coat and broadcast
Primer and body coats go down, with flake broadcast in or metallic pigment worked through by hand.
Seal and cure
A protective topcoat seals the floor. You can walk on it after about a day and park on it after five to seven days. Our guide on when you can park on a new floor covers the timing in detail.
Epoxy, DIY Kits or Polished Concrete
Garage owners usually weigh three options. This is how we see them.
Professional epoxy system
Diamond ground prep, a full build of coats and a written warranty. The right choice when you want colour, flake or metallic and a floor that is fully sealed against oil and salt.
DIY epoxy kit
Cheaper up front, but the slab is usually acid etched instead of ground and the coating is thin. Kits carry no warranty, and hot tire pickup is the most common failure. Read why epoxy floors peel in Vancouver before you buy one.
Polished concrete
No coating on top to lift, and a natural concrete look. It suits garages where the slab is in decent shape and you do not need colour. See our concrete polishing page for finishes and pricing.
Looking After an Epoxy Garage Floor
Day to day, sweep the floor or run a dust mop over it, and a damp mop with a mild cleaner handles the rest. Oil, brake fluid and road salt sit on top of the sealed surface, so you can wipe spills up before they stain. A soft brush and warm water clear tire marks and ground in grime.
Skip harsh acids and abrasive pads, since the topcoat is what protects the colour and flake underneath. If a high traffic area dulls after years of use, we can buff and recoat it instead of starting over.
Other Floors We Coat
We also install basement epoxy floors and commercial epoxy flooring for shops, warehouses and showrooms. Our concrete coatings page compares every system we offer, and our epoxy coatings page covers the resin systems in more depth.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does garage epoxy flooring cost in Vancouver?
A flake garage floor starts at $6 per square foot and runs to $8. Solid colour is about $7 per square foot and metallic runs $10 to $15. A typical two car garage of 400 to 600 square feet lands between $2,400 and $4,800, and a single car garage lands between $1,440 and $3,040. We give you a fixed price after seeing the floor, and the visit is free.
How long does an epoxy garage floor last?
A professionally installed coating typically lasts 10 to 20 years or more, depending on traffic and how well the slab was prepped. Grinding before the first coat is the biggest factor in how long the finish holds.
What warranty comes with a garage epoxy floor?
Flake and solid colour garage floors carry a 15 year written warranty against peeling and delamination, and metallic floors carry 5 years.
Does epoxy hold up in Vancouver’s climate?
Yes. The sealed surface keeps rain and road salt tracked in during our wet winters from soaking into the concrete, which helps prevent pitting and surface damage over time.
Can you coat an old or stained garage floor?
In most cases, yes. We grind off existing coatings and repair cracks and pitting before the new system goes down, so worn, older concrete can be brought back to a smooth finish.
How soon can I park on a new epoxy garage floor?
You can walk on it after about a day and park on it after five to seven days.
Is an epoxy garage floor slippery?
Flake floors have texture that adds grip when tires bring in water. On solid and metallic floors we can add an anti slip additive to the topcoat.
